KORG Gadget 2 App Reviews

Greatest electronic music app

I have bought quite a few music apps but this is by far the best one I have ever used period. The ease of use with this program is phenomenal and the wide variety of sounds to be made is amazing, because of the ease of use it makes songwriting quick, easy and incredibly rewarding. Also if you dont have much music knowledge it is still easy with the ability to choose a scale and key then it only uses notes within those parameters. If you are looking for a wicked music creation app look no further and buy this right now I guarantee you wont regret it.

Powerful and easy to use

Love gadget. Makes it easy to focus on making music and forget about the software. Add-ons a bit pricey but deliver a lot. This is my main music tool when Im mobile.

WASTE OF MONEY!!! No Audio Share either :(

Great sounding synths, but minimal control. Very pricey compared to its competitors. Lack of proper editing facilities. Ridiculously priced in-app content. The new update gave us landscape mode and an export to live option, which is pretty solid:) there is NO UNDO!!! Biggest problem with this app is its lack of editing functions. I cant stress how frustrating this is!! Good for coming up with solid ideas, but at this price you can buy 6 apps that will do the same thing and give you more features and functionality. Kinda disappointed in Korg :( in addition, this app will erase your hard work, just like that! I have had 2 tunes already wiped out completely for no reason. They were saved and then they were gone. Shitty app

One of the best music apps for iPad

Its a dream come true... It literally turns your iPad into a monster music machine. Im using an iPad pro with this and creating killer music pieces with no problems whatsoever.... This kind of thing is revolutionary as the ipad now becomes one of the most powerful musical creation devices in history.... Dont hesitate!

Everything done right

Complex but so easy to use. Sounds exceptionally good. No navigation hurdles to get to your ideas. Great great app, worth the price. Thanks Korg!

great!

Gadget is still great to play around with. In order to get Ableton Link to work though I need to run it in Audiobus otherwise it does not connect to anything.

Loving it! But needs a few things.

I love this app, but the few shortcomings are not enough to give this less than a 5. I would love to be able to name each track rather than be limited to what type of track it is like pad, drums, bass, etc. I want to customize the names. Also, I would like to be able to start playing a scene somewhere other than the beginning of it. Maybe that function is there, but I havent found it yet. Lastly, I know this is.a Korg product, but it would be nice to be able to use other instruments in there, like how Darwin is used to play the iM1 app, but for other instruments that I have that arent Korg. Anyway, its an awesome app, and look forward to any improvements.

Best music creation app. Period.

Gadget has a wealth of impressive sounds and devices (plus the option for in-app add-ons) I never would have thought possible. Korg supplied the tool - all you need is a little imagination and youll be producing great sounding tracks in no time. Ive tried the rest and in my opinion they just dont measure up to Gadget. Added bonus: Soundcloud and Dropbox integration.

Go Go Gadget

This app is definitely great. Its like having a limited version of FL Studio for iOS. Ive yet to use it extensively, but so far its a fantastic app.

Solid music maker

Tons of options and the gadgets sound great across the board.

Fantastic Update

With the 2.0 update, Gadget is inching closer to being the perfect self-contained music app. Korg are at the top of their game, and are continuing support by delivering useful new features. Gadget is a pleasure to use; thanks Korg!

Just ooooone little thing...

Korg has really hit it out of the park with this update. Arpeggiator, chord mode, sequencer tweaks and more. Loving the update. One little nit pick to make, when opening projects now it seems that they are listed randomly rather than how it used to be (which was by date saved) I’m finding it hard to just open the last few tracks I was working on. Maybe there is an setting I am missing and I’m sure I can work around this but it has slowed me down a little. Guess I will just have to name my projects better so I remember what they are! :)

Oh man oh man!

Absolute game changer! Making tracks of this quality on a phone is amazing. Every day I will be more productive, just hope I dont run into any lamp posts:)

GadgetCloud

GadgetCloud and Gadget are poised to change the way we share and create music. Wow. This app sounds and performs in a stellar way! And thank goodness there is nice, graphical handling of automation for "gadget" instrument parameters in the sequencer. Every switch and slider on the gadget instruments can be automated and re-tweaked in realtime. Awesome! This is a desert island app. Scenes (e.g. verse, chorus, bridge) can have different time signatures and tracks within each scene can have different loop lengths (different numbers of bars). Are you sure Im not dreaming? Update: iPhone 6 Plus - gadget is welcome on my phone but the latency of live play of the keys is just too much. If I make a noise by tapping hard with my finger I hear the sound audibly later... Compared to other synths with indiscernible latency (albeit simpler ones; such as Argon and Korgs own iElectribe) its just not pleasurable/usable at the moment.

Incredible

Excellent instruments with a touch-friendly workflow. It works well on an iPad Mini and iPhone 6; they did a good job optimizing for medium size screens. And if youre an Ableton Live user, Gadget will become your best friend (Link and .als export support). It would be nice if you could enlarge the keyboard, though.

My fav music making app.

If I could only have one app on my iPad this would be it. Hands down. No contest. It really is that good.

Best app

New update screwed with a few things but perfect after setting up levels again.

Awesome

And of course the iPad version is 6 stars.

Deletes data - save your money

This app would be great except for the fact that it doesnt autosave and doesnt ask if you want to save when you switch to another project. I spent weeks working on a song, closing the app and restarting my iPad multiple times, and it always remembered the song data. But as soon as I loaded another project, once I went back to my song all the work Id put into it had been erased. Thats the stupidest design decision Ive seen in an app of this calibre. What a waste of $70!!!

Finally on iPhone
